Brew Your Own Beer At Home

Someone who is not familiar with the process of home brewing may be
wondering just how difficult it is in the first place. If it
involves a lot of mixing and boiling and mashing and grinding and
more mixing, is it even worth it? If it's difficult, why bother?

In reality, the process of making homemade beer is not that hard.
Yes, there is some mixing and boiling and things such as these, but
learning how to make homemade beer is typically just as easy as
learning how to make homemade soup. And once you get the process
down, you can pretty much do it with your eyes closed ... well, not
really since there is some boiling liquid involved, but you get the
picture!

Homemade beer, in a nutshell, is made by steeping some malted
grains or other basic elements in water for some time; this is kind
of how you make tea, when you steep the leaves in water. For beer,
you then add more water to this to make several gallons of your
liquid. This too boils for some time, and then you add hops and
any other ingredients you want to toss in there. Some put in
mashed fruit, or honey, or something else to give their beer a
sweeter taste.

This large tub of liquid is transferred to what's called a
fermentation container, and to this you add some yeast. You then
close up this container and let it sit for several days. After
that, you siphon it off or use a strainer to put it in a second
container. This step is important because the liquid will have
some sediment and other little icky things at the bottom of it, and
you want the pure liquid at this point.

Once the liquid is in what's called the secondary fermentation
container, you let that sit for probably a few more days. You then
use a cooking thermometer and a little instrument called a
hydrometer, which looks a lot like a thermometer, to test the
liquid and see if it's done. When it is, you transfer it to
bottles, and add some carbonation at this point. Cap the bottles,
and presto! You have beer.

Pretty simple, right? Sounds a lot like a cross between a bit pot
of tea and homemade soup, and in reality, that's not a bad
comparison.

Of course, most people who make homemade beer follow recipes that
tell them exactly what to do step by step, and you may need to make
some minor adjustments to the procedure we've mentioned, but this
is pretty much how homemade beer is made.

Ending a Relationship - Breaking Up is Hard To Do

Does your to-do list look something like this:

· Walk dog
· Water plants
· Break up with significant other

Okay, while ending a relationship is hardly at the top of anybody’s calendar, the fact is that when a relationship has gone sour, someone has to make the move to end it. The truth is that many relationships last long beyond the “expire by” date just because breaking up is hard to do.

Sometimes a break up happens in dramatic fashion with clothes being thrown out of a second story window.

Other times, the relationship just peters out until someone says “it’s caput.”

How do you go about ending a relationship so that neither party gets hurt?

You need to get clear on why you want to terminate the romance. The immediate reason that jumps into your mind may not be the real reason. Once you get clear, the next step in ending a relationship is to get honest. That means that in your discussion with your partner that you are true to yourself and to them.

Schedule a mutually convenient time for the breakup. In general, it is better to do it in person rather than over the phone, but if distance is an issue in the relationship, you should do it sooner than wait for a time you can get together.

Get into a state of compassion when ending the relationship. If you want to stay friends after the break up, you need to conclude the romantic ties with love and compassion.

Don’t put your partner on the defensive. Talk about the things you’ve learned and the memories you will cherish that have come from your love. Be present during the break up. Your partner may become very emotional during this time. You need to respond to their needs.

Don’t take anything personally when ending a relationship. Your partner may say things they don’t really mean. Let these words roll off of your back.

Your partner may need to meet with you more than once to conclude the relationship. Or, they may need space. Give your ex what they need to get through the transition time.

But don’t let them make you feel guilty. You’re ready to begin a new phase in your life and it will not include a romantic relationship with your ex. It is best if you retain a positive relationship of some sort with them, but if you are ending the relationship for the right reasons, it is best for both of you.

Should you ever consider reconnecting? Does ending a relationship always mean “the end, close the book?”

That is something you have to decide. Virtually all relationships can be saved if certain conditions are met. If you have the time and are willing to make the effort, you can get through this period as an even stronger couple.

However, if you are determined to walk away, it’s best to end a relationship with a clean break and move on.

    Stop Your Parrot From Being Afraid Of You

    Today I want to talk to you about an important technique you can use that is EXTREMELY effective at convincing your parrot to willingly start to overcome his fears of you... even if you've always treated him VERY nice.

    I've already showed you how you can use the "Power Pause" technique to convince your bird to let you touch him... but if you want to train your parrot to willingly step up when you want, or let you pet him, you're going to want to use a different strategy.

    A strategy that is powerful enough to convince your parrot to come to you when you offer a command, instead of you always forcing your parrot to do things.

    You'll need a way to convince your parrot, who is STILL a little scared of you to be willing to overcome his own fear, on his own FREE will. keyword "his FREE Will"... NOT yours ;-)

    You see, when I was first trying to train my Macaw, Tiko to stop biting. I used the "Power Pause" technique that I showed you earlier, to get Tiko to let me come near him and even touch him every now and then.

    And I didn't want my parrot to just tolerated me. I wanted my Macaw to REALLY love me. I wanted him to want to be with me, to like being pet and to show affection towards me like my little Golden Retriever does (with 100% devotion)

    But every time I tried to reach in his cage and get him to step up, he'd whip that big black beak around, lower his head so I couldn't pick him up by his feat and try to fend me off.

    And if I pressed the matter I got nipped. A couple times I got my hand torn to pieces... and I'd be lying if I said I wasn't scared to death each he whipped his beak around at me.

    I could tell my Macaw was scared of me, that's why all parrots bite, out of fear and mistrust. It's not that I ever hurt him, but for some mysterious reason he didn't trust me.

    So I put together a strategy for finding a way where I didn't have to force myself on my parrot when he wasn't ready. I wanted to be patient and let my bird decide when he was ready to open up to me.

    But I didn't want the process to take months either ;-)

    What I needed was a way for me to just set my hand on my parrots perch and convince him to walk over and step on it. Instead of me trying to grab at his feet or push up on his chest to get him to step up.

    I needed something that could reward my bird for even taking one step towards my hand... one step towards overcoming the mislead fear he had about my hand.

    So today I wanted to share that technique with you. The 'EXACT' way to safely motivate your parrot with a positive reward he likes.

    *This lesson is very detailed and should be saved for future reference in a separate email folder. This is not just a few short tips, but a detailed manual of how to truly get fast results in bird training.

    THE VERY FIRST STEP

    So let's begin! The first important thing to understand is the thinking process your bird will be going through during the training and how to take advantage of that process. So I will do my best to put you in your bird's shoes, so to speak.

    If you've followed the instructions that I first laid out for you on Day one with the "Power Pause" video, you already know a simple to use technique to get your parrot to let you get VERY close to him... even let you touch him willingly.

    But getting a parrot to go from letting you touch him, to letting you pet him, or stepping up for you is a WHOLE other ballgame.

    Remember, your parrot is still fearful of you...

    the second you try to reach for his feet to pick him up, or start scratching behind his head is probably going to get you nipped or bitten very quickly... and the trust you've just built up by following the "Power Pause" technique will be destroyed.

    So we need to figure out a way to bridge this gap.

    I've shown you how to get your parrot comfortable with letting you come close to him, but now we need to convince your parrot to cover the next 10% on his own -- that means you can't force ANYTHING!

    This means we need to give your parrot a reward that is MORE important and enticing than his fear of being touched by you.

    And we need to offer that treat as a reward for your parrot when he starts to come closer to you.

    But here's the cardinal SIN I used to make when I first started trying to offer rewards to my parrot for stepping up or letting me pet him...

    I didn't put him on a training diet... oops :-(


    Here's what I mean...


    If you are like most parrot owners, you leave food in your bird's cage all day long and your parrot can eat all he wants whenever he wants. So, here is a statistic you will be happy to know. . . . .

    MOST PARROTS Are FULL 99% of their life!

    Too many parrot owners make the mistake of leaving food in their parrots cages ALL day long! And if I've got a parrot who's been stuffing his face all day long, and try to offer him a treat as a reward for coming to me on his own free will...

    ... that's not going to be very enticing since it would be 1,000 times easier for my parrot to just walk down to his food bowl and get the treat there instead.

    So the trick is all in setting up a training diet for your parrot that gives him all the nutrients and calories he needs to stay in good health, while also getting him hungry two to three times a day.

    And it's the process of getting your bird mildly hungry that gives him the motivation to get out of his comfort zone and be willing to step out of his comfort zone a little bit to earn a treat.

    Some fools think that when I talk about training diets I'm talking about food deprivation... but nothing could be further from the truth.

    In fact I've had several stupid students think that if getting a bird mildly hungry is effective, then getting a bird SUPER hungry is even more effective.

    In reality, a bird that is made severely hungry will start to associate it's deep hunger pains with training. Because every time it's super hungry it has to train.

    So make sure to follow the instructions below carefully, and remember that your goal is to only create a mild level of hunger twice a day to be used as a technique to make a food reward extra motivating.

    Here's how to set up your bird's training diet:
    ===============================

    To start off with, you should switch your parrot over to a low sugar, preferably organic pelleted
    diet.

    All those seed, and nut mixes out on the market are complete crap, and provide WAY too much fat for your birds diet.

    These high seed and nut mix diets are a MAJOR cause of the increase in avian tumors and shortened lifespans, as well as organ failure in pet birds.

    So we use pellet diet from http://www.feedyourflock.com that is completely organic and extremely healthy.

    It's not the only food out there, but it's a good one, and it's one of only two major foods that are certified organic... so it's healthier for the bird.

    I recommend picking some up immediately and switching over your birds food as you start this process.

    Once you order the food, here's how to set up your parrot's feeding schedule.

    1. First of all, establish how much food your parrot eats in a day. Do this by purchasing a scale (triple beam scale is the most accurate) and weighing your bird's food for the day.

    Let's use round numbers to make this easy to understand, but keep in mind that all birds will vary drastically in their daily food consumption. Now, make sure that the amount of food that you are weighing is more food than you know your parrot could eat in a day.

    2. Put that amount of food, let's say it was 20 grams, in your bird's cage right before you go to bed. Then, wait until right before you go to bed the next night, (a 24 hour period) to take the food out of your bird's cage, and weigh the amount of food left in your bird's food dish.

    3. After a complete day of food being in your bird's cage, let's say your bird's food, weighed 10 grams. This means that your bird ate 10 grams of food in a 24 hour period. Keep in mind that you will want to do this process for 2-3 more days to get a really good feel for the amount of food your bird eats on a daily average.


    4. Everything is done in very small steps with bird training, and this first step is the same. You now know that your bird eats 10 grams of food a day. So you now are going to only feed your bird 8 grams of food before you go to bed.

    BUT WE WILL NOT STARVE THE BIRD, THAT IS NOT THE IDEA OF THIS LESSON WHATSOEVER!

    5. After you feed your bird 8 grams of food the next evening, you are going to feed it the other 2 grams of food that you took out of his diet, in the form of his favorite treats; usually sunflower seeds, dried banana chips or peanuts.

    Do this by weighing out 2 grams of your bird's favorite treat, let's say, sunflower seeds. Take the bird out of his cage, and feed your bird his special treats by hand.

    PROBLEMS YOU COULD HAVE:

    A. If your bird won't eat the treats, he could be afraid of the hand that is feeding him the seeds. In which case spend time calming down your bird, and try feeding him again, or....

    B. Your bird is not hungry and has been overeating even after you cut his food down to 8 grams. This is not unusual because people usually over-feed their parrots. Don't despair, just simply stop feeding your bird the treats, and when you fill up his food bowl for the night, only give him 7 grams of food, a gram less than the night before.

    THIS IS YOUR HOMEWORK FOR THE NEXT FEW DAYS!

    1. Establish a training diet that your Vet approves for your parrot so that your bird will eat treats out of your hand at night when he is hungry.

    Keep in mind that this is not cruel in any way. We are still feeding the bird the same amount of food in a day. We are just breaking it up into meals, just the same way you and I eat. This will be the foundation for motivating your parrot.

    Getting this training diet set up will change you and your parrot's relationship in ways you could never imagine. He'll start wanting to cuddle with you, bury his head in our finger tips begging for pets, or cuddling in the folds of your clothes while you sit in your favorite chair.

    All it takes is to bridge the language gap between you and your parrot, so you can start to reward him for overcoming his fears.

    by far my favorite game to play online. The idea is violent
    conflict between criminal organizations, but what about the
    real mafia wars in the 20th century?

    The First Mafia War was the first high-profile conflict
    between Mafia clans in post-war Italy (the Sicilian Mafia has
    a long history of violent rivalries).

    In December 1962 some heroin went missing from a shipment to
    America. When the Sicilian Mafia Commission could not decide
    who was to blame, one of the clans involved - the La Barbera
    clan - took matters into its own hands. They murdered a mafioso
    from the Greco clan whom they suspected of stealing the heroin,
    triggering a war in which many non-mafiosi would be killed in

    Have you ever noticed now matter how nice you are to your parrot, no matter how much yummy food you give him, or how sweet you talk to him, that he still doesn't seem to want you to pick him up or pet him?

    Sure you have, we all have...

    I can remember back when I used to think that if I just spent some more time with my birds, and talked nicely to them that somehow they'd magically start liking me, realize I wasn't so scary after all, and they'd turn into well behaved parrots for the rest of their lives.

    How TRULY stupid I was to EVER think that would work!

    Because parrots usually bite for one reason. They are afraid of something. They're either afraid of you, someone in your family, someone entering their territory or a hundred other things.

    And when parrots are afraid, the only thing they can do is 'Fight or Flight'. And if you've clipped your parrots wings, he's probably going to think he has better chances of biting something he's afraid of then falling to the floor 'cuz his wings are clipped.

    So when you (the scary thing) try to force your parrot to step up, by pushing down on his feet or up on his chest and trying to pry him off his perch, is that building trust with your parrot?

    If every time you open your parrots cage he runs and hides in the back corner, is that a trust building experience for the bird?

    What about if he lunges and attacks you when you change his food and water? Is that a calm situation that's helping him overcome his fear of you?

    Or what if your parrot's out in your living room refusing to let anyone pick him up, and you throw a scary towel over him and toss him back in his cage? Did he snuggle up to the towel and enjoy being snuggled? Or did his little bird brain think a giant rug was going to suffocate him, and throw him back in that boring jail cell?

    I don't know about you, but when people make me do things that scare me to death, and inflict pain and fear along every step of the way, I don't really trust them the next time they come around.

    Like when I was learning to swim... my dad didn't drag me out into the middle of the river and toss my ass out the back of the boat.

    He slowly talked me in from the shoreline one step at a time, telling me how proud he was of me every step of the way -- reinforcing my progress.

    But don't miss my point... maybe if my Dad had tossed me out the back of the boat I would have been just fine. Maybe I would have overcome my fear of the water as I realized it wasn't as scary as I thought.

    But let me ask you this...

    How trusting would I be of my father next time I was at the back of that boat?

    You see, parrot training isn't about teaching your parrot a lesson. It's about building trust.

    It's about coaxing your parrot to slowly overcome his fears of you, your fingers, your hands, your pet dog, your spouse etc.

    And in order to build that trust, you have to stop forcing your parrot to do things like step up when he doesn't want to, or not pet him when he wants to be left alone.

    And every time you ignore this rule, your bird distrust for you grows a little bit more, and you'll have to work that much harder to rebuild the relationship.

    That's why yesterday I sent you the "Power Pause" video. Because it gives you the very first tool you need to start working with your parrot to not scare him.

    It shows how by giving a parrot what it wants you can train it to do ANYTHING! And in the case of the power pause video, my two birds wanted to be left alone more than anything. And when they behaved like I wanted them to, I rewarded them with 5-10 seconds of leaving them alone.

    And you saw in the video how in a span of 5-10 minutes this built up enough trust with my parrots so that they would let me touch them... Just because I didn't try to force them to do anything.

    I just pushed them a little way into their 'Fear Zone' waited for them to behave, and then rewarded them for it. It's a VERY powerful concept that allows you to get close enough to your parrot so that you can start training him more advanced skills and tolerances.

    Learn How to Get Him Back

    Are you yearning for the good old days and hoping to rekindle a lost romance? Are you interested in giving a tumultuous relationship another chance? Follow these steps detailed below and you can learn how to get him back.

    1 - Keep in mind, first and foremost, that patience is a virtue. Do not rush anything, but rather start things off with a simple small whenever you pass your ex, or waving and saying hello every so often.     3 - Keep things fresh. Make sure that you look good, and smell good, and that you keep things changed up on a fairly regular basis in order to keep him interested in you. You should put some thought into your appearance because maintaining your good looks will show confidence and respect for yourself and your body which is something that most men find quite sexy and attractive.

    4 - Don't be afraid to throw a few honest compliments out there every so often. You are going to want to make sure that your ex feels good any time he is around you if you really want to get your ex back. Talk about the good times that you and he spent together, bringing up good memories from the past. Help him remember some of the best highlights from the days of your relationship and enjoy the reminiscing while simultaneously working to get him back.

    Try to become your ex's friend first and foremost, because if he wants you back, he will eventually let you know. Be his friend, open up to him, show him a nice time, and if his feelings for you are rekindled, he will let you know. Take things slowly and don't act too needy. Instead, just play it cool and let him come to you. If things are meant to be, they will be, and you will learn how to get him back through the process.

    Minimizing Stress Effects In Your Life

    Stress has been given a lot of bad press over the last few decades. And why shouldn't it? It is extremely harmful to many parts of our lives. Relationships suffer, work doesn't go smoothly, and health issues can result. However, stress is in fact the body's natural, healthy response to situations that we feel could cause us some kind of harm. It provides a physical boost and mental clarity to allow us to properly deal with or escape from a potentially dangerous circumstance. However, the stress systems of the body were not designed to be able to cope with the issues we face today, such as surprise, personal expectation, remembered moments, and even imagined situations that can lead us to feel upset.

    While stress has been a central part of the survival of humanity since the dawn of our existence, it is only the most recent lifestyles that we have adopted that have caused us to actually suffer from stress as a problem in itself. It has become so common that it is now one of the primary contributors to illness and unhappiness in the developed world.

    This means that if you wish to eliminate the negative stress from your life, then you are also going to need to achieve a certain level of understanding about the issue. To begin with, there is a notable difference between living live stress-free and managing the stress in your life so that it remains at a comfortable level. No matter where your life takes you, stress will occur and there is nothing that can be done to stop it. The secret is to adopt a perspective and a way of life that allows for healthy stress management so that it can enter your life, perform its function, and then be released.

    Moreover, you also need to know that some stressors are positive ones. Consider the surprise you feel when someone has thrown a party for you of which you were entirely unaware. What about the feeling of excitement? Or the rush from taking a bit of a risk with which you are comfortable? If your life was completely stress-free, then you would wash out the good along with the bad, and you wouldn't be able to enjoy the best parts of your life.

    To achieve a life with a minimal amount of negative stress, the key is to learn effective Stress Management. It means that you will need to learn a way of looking at your life that allows the stress to come and go; benefiting you, but not being allowed to build up.

    Autism - Anti-social Behavior

    The last couple of posts have focused on a couple of different types
    of treatment options - using restrictive diets and also taking
    supplements.

    So, today I'd like to move away from nutrition based treatments and
    look at one of the most popular treatments and teaching options
    available.

    It is called Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA)

    So what's ABA and how can it help?
    -------------------------------------------------------

    (ABA) is centered on the theory that behaviors can be 'increased'
    or 'reduced' based on the reaction the behavior receives.

    Specific behaviors that are reinforced by ABA are those deemed
    "socially significant behaviors" including...

    - Literacy.
    - Educational skills.
    - Social skills.
    - Communication skills.
    - Adaptive living skills (motor skills, food preparation, personal
    care, cleaning, time, money, work skills, etc.).

    ABA is normally tailored to each child, and the assessment stage
    will typically cover 4 steps...

    Skills are taught in very small steps. For example, if the skill
    being taught is to dress independently, the teacher (i.e., parent,
    educator, therapist, or caregiver) might start with something as
    small as putting on socks successfully.

    One of the positive aspects of ABA is the emphasis placed on
    parents' involvement.

    Parents are encouraged to carry out aspects of the program at home
    to help reinforce learned skills. And, when carried out at home,
    daily activities such as getting dressed or teeth cleaning can be
    made part of the program.

    There are opponents to ABA however, who believe the treatment
    produces robotic children by not encouraging children to think
    independently.

    ABA is also very time intensive - up to 40 hours a week and as a
    result can be very costly.

    However, for the most part parents report positive changes when
    this treatment is applied.

    One of the biggest issues facing parents who choose ABA is
    identifying an ABA therapist they feel they and their child
    can work with.

    6 - Any time that you know he is looking at you, or if you feel like he is looking at you, look at him out of the corner of your eye. This sidelong glance will let him know that you are paying attention to him, but in a mysterious "you can't have me" kind of way.

    Fat is OK, Really

    Hope you are having a good and healthy day!

    Today, we need to talk shop with you. We really need to get this off our gut...as most people are wrong in their way of thinking. They think that all fat is bad!

    Though a lot of the fat out there is really bad for you, there are also some good types of fat. Fat that it is OK for you to eat!

    Think about it. Everyone has fat on them, however there is a certain amount of safe fat, and then there is excess fat. We need a certain percentage of fat to be healthy. One thing that you should know though, is that over 100 million Americans alone have "too much" fat. This is because they are eating the naughty fats, not the good ones.

    We are going to get a little technical on you here, so hold tight...

    "Fat droplets inside most of our body's cells regulate excess proteins in our bodies. Even if too much fat has negative effects on our body and health, it seems that a certain amount of fat is necessary for preserving the function of cells."

    "Fat droplets are microscopical fat spots present in almost all the cells in the body, and they play the role of warehouses or storage depots for a certain type of protein used by molecules to bind DNA. Besides storing the particular histone proteins needed by cells to bind and organize DNA in the nucleus, the fat droplets also serve as deposits for other proteins found in excessive amounts within our bodies. If these proteins were not gathered and stored somewhere in the body, they would become harmful for our health."

    So, it is good to have fat. We need it to function! But what are the good fats and what are the bad fats?

    ***Good Fats = Polyunsaturated/Monounsaturated Fats

    Ex. fish oil, sunflower oil, Omega 3, nuts, olive oil, avocado

    ***Bad Fats = Saturated/Trans Fats

    Ex. Coconut oil, palm oil, meat, cheese, eggs, margarine, French fries, Cheetos

    These are the basics of it. Having some fat in your diet is good, and ideally you want to make those fats good fats. Eating a bag of chips is NOT a good way to get your fat. Not only are you putting the wrong type of fat in your body, they are very bad for you!

    We do have some good news for you.

    Any fat that you have can be removed...as much or as little as you like.

    Fat does weigh less than muscle, but the bad thing about fat is that it doesn't help burn calories, whereas muscle does. Therefore, you are better off weighing more by having more muscles, not fat, as your metabolism will burn much more calories in the long run if you have a higher muscle mass.

    So, having the right type of fat in your diet is OK, but having over a certain amount of fat on your body can be unhealthy. Fat is stored when you burn less calories than you take in, so the goal is to burn more calories than you eat everyday.

    Top 5 Fat Loss Tips

    Men's Fitness magazine recently asked me for 3 of my best fat loss secrets. Since most times the magazines just don't have enough space to run my full tips, I thought I'd give you a more detailed explanation of my secrets here (plus a few extra bonus tips that I didn't send to the magazine).

    Secret #1 - Focus on burning carbohydrate, not fat, during your
    fat-loss workouts.

    Sounds backwards, right? But not when you look at how I structure my workouts. Remember that Turbulence Training focuses on resistance training and interval training. Both of these use carbohydrate as the main source of energy. So it's obvious the workout is designed to burn carbohydrates during the training session.

    I have no interest in you trying to train in your "target heart
    rate zone" for fat burning (aka - the fat burning zone). The whole idea of a fat-burning zone is an over-simplified idea of how the body works during exercise.

    Leave the inefficient fat burning zone to the mis-educated
    trainers in the commercial gyms (that not surprisingly, also want to sell you a heart rate monitor so you can stay in your "fat
    burning heart rate zone").

    If you want to get the most results in the least amount of time,
    focus on burning carbohydrates, not fat.

    Why do my fat loss workouts focus on burning carbohydrate rather than fat? In order to burn more calories after the workout, that's why. When you exercise with intervals and heavy resistance training, your body uses more calories in the hours after exercise than it would if you did traditional cardio and lifted lighter weights.

    Alwyn Cosgrove calls this 'afterburn', and I call it 'Turbulence'.
    By any name it gives you the same results - maximum
    improvements in your body composition (helping you lose fat while gaining muscle).

    Secret #2 - Use a range of repetitions in your strength training
    workouts.

    In order to train more muscle fibers and burn more carbohydrates, I have clients use a range of repetitions within the same workout. My workouts now use 6, 8, and 12 reps per set in order to work the muscle the most effectively.

    This will burn more carbohydrates and promote as much muscle growth as possible when you are keeping the calories low.

    Secret #3 - Use the stationary cycle for interval training.

    I choose the stationary bike for intervals whenever possible
    because cycling against a resistance can help maintain muscle mass.

    Cycling against a resistance also allows you to perform a large
    amount of mechanical work, and that is a key determinant of the Turbulence in my training.

    But please note: I don't use low-intensity, fast pedaling
    'spinning' intervals as I'm convinced that the hard, resistance
    based intervals are more effective for fat loss. My clients only
    cycle against a strong resistance in their intervals.

    I really like the bike, but there are many other ways to do
    intervals. Use what works for you, but if you are at a plateau, try the bike.

    Secret #4 - Increase meal frequency

    Okay, so this isn't really a secret to anyone that has read about
    fat loss. But a 2005 study from the American Journal of Clinical
    Nutrition showed that eating 6 times per day was associated with eating fewer calories per day, lowering cholesterol levels, and lowering post-meal insulin levels.

    Combine an increased meal frequency with an increased protein and fiber intake, and you'll see your body composition improve rapidly.

    Secret #5 - My Synergistic Turbulence Training Workouts

    My Turbulence Training Fat Loss workouts are fast becoming the most effective way to burn fat, build muscle, and get lean. The synergistic strength training-interval training workouts are
    efficient and effective - getting you in and out of the gym in
    under an hour.

    Here are some tips that you can use for an advanced training phase

    - use these tips for 2 weeks then return to your normal training
    schedule:

    a) Add 10 seconds to each interval but maintain the intensity

    b) Add in some bodyweight circuits (10-20 minutes per day) done in the morning or evening (if you do your regular workout in the AM, do your bodyweight circuits after dinner; otherwise, do the bw circuits first thing in the AM, and then do your regular workout at lunch or later in the afternoon or evening)

    If you are advanced, you can use squats, pushups, and bodyweight rows for your circuit.

    If you are a beginner, you could use lying hip extensions, modified pushups, and stick-ups.

    c) Add an extra set to each exercise in the first superset you do
    in each workout.

    Again, use these three tips for an advanced fat loss period of two
    weeks, then return to a normal training schedule.

    But always stick to the best fat loss nutrition plan possible.
