Magic Basics - Beginning Tricks

Continuing with a series of tips provided by www.MagicDB.net

Ice Cube Trick

The trick/ illusion: You have a cup or glass that you fill with some water. Next you need to blow into the cup. Once you have let a small time frame of a minute or two pass, turn the cup over and let the now frozen water cubes fall out onto the table next to you.

The Props: A glass or cup - this cup should not be see-through
A piece of sponge
Some cubes of ice
A bit of water.

Prop preparation: First place the sponge in the bottom of the cup. Now onto this sponge place some ice cubes.

The method: To begin with you will tell your audience that you will turn water into ice, in less time than it takes to count to 5.

To do this you will need to pour about an inch or so of water into the cup. This will immediately be soaked up by the sponge. While the water is being absorbed by the sponge you should show that you are blowing cold air into the cup.

After about a minute turn the cup over and let the now frozen water in the form of ice cubes, fall onto the table.
Amazing!

For added effect you can use a disposable cup and at the end of the trick - once the ice cubes have fallen out - just calmly throw the cup to aside. This should show that there is no water left in the glass.
