Why Autism Is Different

Today, I'd like to explain where Autism fits within the spectrum
of PDD's (Pervasive Developmental Disorders) and what makes it
different.

Helping parents understand Autism was the initial reason I started
my research into this particular PDD.

Despite the media attention (or maybe because of it??) there seems
to be quite a bit of confusion over exactly what Autism means...

How it relates to Asperger's and the other PDD's (Rett's Syndrome,
Childhood Disintegrative Disorder and PDD-NOS) and what exactly is
"high-functioning autism" and does it even exist?

-----------------Here's why autism is different---------------------------

Researchers have defined several ways in which autism can be
differentiated from other PDD's:

- Children with autism are usually uninterested in interacting with
others.

- Children with autism may have speech delays or no speech at all.

- Children with autism may have other cognitive delays.

- Children with autism tend to have lower verbal IQs.

- Autism is usually apparent from early childhood and most children
are diagnosed between the ages of 2-4.

- Children with autism are more likely to have other neurological
disorders too.

Out of all of the PDD's (classic autism, Rett's Syndrome, Childhood
Disintegrative Disorder, PDD-NOS and Asperger's Syndrome)
Asperger's Syndrome is the least severe in most cases.

--------------------------------------------
So, what does this all mean?
--------------------------------------------

There's a wide range of symptoms associated with autism and an equally
wide range in the severity of those symptoms.

Each child displays different characteristics but there are three
core areas in which children need to show an impairment to receive
a PDD diagnosis:
1. Socialization
2. Communication
3. And atypical repetitive behaviors.

A child with difficulties in these areas, combined with language
delays or deficiencies, will usually be given an autism diagnosis.

Whereas, if a child doesn't have problems with language they may be
diagnosed as having Asperger's Syndrome.

This is where the term 'high functioning autism' comes into play...

While not a specific diagnostic term it is often used to describe
children who have mild autistic tendencies and is usually used in
reference to kids with Asperger's Syndrome.

--------------------------
What can you do?
--------------------------

The first step is to confirm a diagnosis to rule out any other
condition causing the symptoms.

Here's one thing you can do today...

about Autism over the past 3 and half years and how it relates to
the other PDD's.

Magic Basics - Beginning Tricks

Continuing with a series of tips provided by www.MagicDB.net

Ice Cube Trick

The trick/ illusion: You have a cup or glass that you fill with some water. Next you need to blow into the cup. Once you have let a small time frame of a minute or two pass, turn the cup over and let the now frozen water cubes fall out onto the table next to you.

The Props: A glass or cup - this cup should not be see-through
A piece of sponge
Some cubes of ice
A bit of water.

Prop preparation: First place the sponge in the bottom of the cup. Now onto this sponge place some ice cubes.

The method: To begin with you will tell your audience that you will turn water into ice, in less time than it takes to count to 5.

To do this you will need to pour about an inch or so of water into the cup. This will immediately be soaked up by the sponge. While the water is being absorbed by the sponge you should show that you are blowing cold air into the cup.

After about a minute turn the cup over and let the now frozen water in the form of ice cubes, fall onto the table.
Amazing!

For added effect you can use a disposable cup and at the end of the trick - once the ice cubes have fallen out - just calmly throw the cup to aside. This should show that there is no water left in the glass.

And Ta - Da!! You now have a beginning trick for your magic toolbox!!! And now once again, believe it or not, we return to the fact that there are still many more things to take into account with magic tricks...

What Can I Do To Get My Ex Girlfriend Back?

Most people find themselves asking "What can I do to get my ex girlfriend back" following a breakup. They begin to start thinking and philosophizing about everything that could have been done differently. They even begin to make plans about apology letters and other things that might be able to help them score their relationship back.

This tends to be a dead end for one reason above all else: Because you can never really tell what the real reasons were behind a breakup. Women become emotional and sometimes they do not even know what led to the break up at hand and they may not know what is making them feel the way they do. In many circumstances it is only harmful to lose all your energy trying to figure out what went wrong.

The first main strategy to answer the question about "what can I do to get my ex girlfriend back" is to forget about the relationship for a while, putting your energy into something else. Go out, make friends, have fun, network, and forget about women in general. Set some realistic goals about expanding your repertoire when it comes to seduction and meeting people.

Give yourself a couple of months and make changes in your life. Take some time away from your ex and it will work wonders.

The effect that strategies like this will have, is that it will allow you to make gradual changes in your life. And in how you perceive the subject of relationships. After a few months, you may have a much better idea of how you want to proceed with your ex.

Do you still want to get back together with her? Or are you ready to move on? Act accordingly. If you still want to get back together with her, it might be time to figure out how she is feeling about you.

Now is your chance to be a little more direct when it comes to getting your ex girlfriend back. You need to play strategically, however. Do not simply beg her to get back with you, because this is not a good time to be emotional.

Instead, what you should be doing is playing things cool with your ex. If you have spent enough time apart from her, she is probably missing you as badly as you are missing her. Play hard to get a little (don't over do it) and show her that you are doing fine without her. This will inspire her to really rethink things.

And if getting back together with your ex really is meant to be, now is the time when it will become apparent. Be careful not to analyze things too much, because over analyzing may prevent you from acting the right way when trying to figure out "what can I do to get my ex girlfriend back". Just take things slow and play them cool and you should be fine.
